Comment choisir son oreiller en 5 étapes ? - Label Naturel

The objective of this guide is to help you choose your pillow in 5 quick and easy steps.

1 - CHOOSE THE FILLING

There are two main families of pillows: synthetic pillows and the natural pillows.

Today, synthetic pillows are very common because they are generally inexpensive. However, they have many disadvantages:

  • synthetic fibers come from petroleum derivatives or polymerized natural materials and are therefore chemical,
  • they often undergo additional antibacterial chemical treatment,
  • they absorb little moisture and regulate temperature poorly, which makes you sweat,
  • they can cause allergies.

You won't find any here. True to our philosophy, we only offer natural pillows because they are:

  • more respectful of nature,
  • softer,
  • more comfortable,
  • healthier,
  • less allergenic.

A - COTTON OR KAPOK PILLOWS

  • Cheap : cotton and kapok are very absorbent and inexpensive materials. The cotton or kapok pillows therefore have excellent value for money in the “natural pillows” category.
  • Ergonomic : cotton and kapok having significant resilience, cotton or kapok pillows often offer firm comfort without any muscular tension in the cervical area.
  • Modular : provided with an inner envelope with a zipper allowing filling to be removed or added to obtain the desired support.
  • Healthy : naturally antibacterial and antiperspirant.

B - WOOL PILLOWS

  • Cozy : wool is a very absorbent and very warm material. The wool pillows are therefore cozy and pleasant.
  • Ergonomic : wool has good resilience, wool pillows offer firm comfort without muscular tension in the cervical area.
  • Modular : provided with an inner envelope with a zipper.

C - DOWN PILLOWS

There are many types of feathers and down with varying properties. The more refined and quality the filling, the more optimal the thermal comfort.

  • Bulking : the down used is new, very fluffy and naturally ventilated.
  • Healthy : naturally anti-mite without adding acaricide product.
  • Fluffy : suitable for people with neck pain.

D - SILK PILLOWS

  • Accessible : offered today at reasonable prices.
  • Dishes and farms : firm comfort that ensures good alignment of the spine.
  • Healthy : naturally anti-mite and antibacterial.

E - CEREAL PILLOWS

  • Naturally anti-mite, thanks to the circulation of air in the balls.
  • Ergonomic : the cereal balls conform to the shape of the neck and provide uniform support.
  • Modular : adjustable density by removing or adding cereal husks.

FAQs

Which natural pillow should I choose according to my sleeping position?
To sleep on your side, choose a firm and fairly high pillow. To sleep on your back, choose a pillow of medium firmness that supports the neck without raising your head excessively. To sleep on your stomach, opt for a very thin pillow to limit neck tension.
How firm should a natural pillow be?
The firmness depends on the filling: pillows made from buckwheat or spelled husks are very firm, those from millet are more supple, while down, wool or silk offer soft comfort.
What size or shape of pillow should I choose?
The square format (e.g. 60x60, 65x65) is common but the rectangular format (e.g. 50x70, 40x60) often promotes better neck alignment and is better suited to people who move around at night.
When should you renew a natural pillow?
A pillow should be replaced when it loses its volume, becomes too flat or no longer properly supports the head and neck. On average, a quality natural pillow lasts between 3 and 5 years depending on maintenance.
