Pourquoi nos couettes et oreillers sont écologiques - Label Naturel

Our ecological duvets and pillows: good for the planet and for your comfort

At Label Naturel, we have chosen to offer you only eco-friendly duvets and pillows. Our duvets and pillows are either 100% natural or made from recycled materials.

The creation of traditional bedding items is, in our opinion, too resource-intensive for the planet.

Through this article, we will first explain to you the environmental impact of the bedding industry.

Then, we will explain to you the specificities of our ecological duvets and pillows.

The environmental impact of traditional duvets and pillows

Resource-demanding production

The production of quilts and pillows is very greedy for water.

Conventional cotton is particularly affected by this problem. In addition, its production requires a large quantity of pesticides and chemical fertilizers.

These products can pollute the soil, groundwater and impact the fauna, flora and human communities that live nearby.

Transporting these products around the world also contributes to CO2 emissions, thereby increasing their carbon footprint.

Non-renewable materials

Synthetic fibers, such as polyester, are not biodegradable. They generate a large amount of plastic waste which will take centuries to decompose. In addition, these petroleum-derived materials contribute to the depletion of fossil fuels.

Label Naturel : your reference for ecological duvets and pillows

Label Naturel only offers duvets and pillows ecological. Thanks to our choices, you are sure to preserve nature, while using quality items.

Our 100% recycled duvets and pillows

In order to allow everyone to access virtuous products, we have just launched one collection at a time ecological and economical. Thanks to direct sales, we are able to offer these ecological duvets from €30 for a small duvet and eco pillows less than 15€. The filling, envelope and packaging of our ecological bedding are made from recycled materials.

Our collections Label Naturel and Zzzen®

We have developed our own brands: Label Naturel and Zzzen®. They offer you products made from 100% natural, ecological and accessible fibers.

Our collection Label Naturel consists of bedding items made from natural materials. Silk, down, cotton and precious wools are used to offer you soft and comfortable bedding.

Our Zzzen® collection consists of duvets and pillows made from organic and ethical materials.

Natural bedding: the combination of know-how and respect for nature

The silk, down, cotton and even wool that we use are of high quality. All our items are respectful of nature. Durable and hypoallergenic, they take care of you and your family.

Our bedding includes:

Wild oak silk, 100% pure. Also called silk Tussah, it is produced while respecting the chrysalis. We wait for the butterfly to emerge from its cocoon to collect the silk. Furthermore, this precious fiber is naturally hypoallergenic and antibacterial. Silk therefore does not need any chemical treatment to remain healthy.

Silk is also thermoregulatory and soft for more pleasant nights. Designed to last, it is easy to maintain.

RDS certified duvets. This label confirms the traceability of down: from breeding to the finished product. It also certifies that our duvets are designed with respect for animal welfare.

We offer duck down and goose down duvets. Known for their exceptional qualities and their swelling effect. These duvets insulate against the cold while providing a lightweight duvet or pillow.

100% organic cotton. Organic cotton is made without chemical fertilizers, without GMOs and without pesticides. Ethical and ecological, the cotton we use is labeled GOTS and Oeko-Tex®.

The water consumption of organic cotton is reduced by half compared to conventional cotton cultivation. Crop rotation carried out in organic farming allows better oxygenation of the soil and preserves its richness.

In addition, the cotton is bleached with hydrogen peroxide, the dyes are made without heavy metals and without carcinogenic substances.

100% organic merino wool. They are obtained in an ecological and animal-friendly manner.

All the wool used in our ranges is washed with a biodegradable detergent then rinsed in clean water and bleached using hydrogen peroxide.

This allows us to obtain high quality wool, completely healthy and free of chemicals.

The labels of our ecological duvets and pillows

We favor duvets and pillows which have one or more labels certifying the producer's commitment.

The labels Oeko-Tex®, GOTS and RDS are those that you will find most often at Label Naturel. They are all a guarantee of quality, respect for nature and animal welfare.

Local and European manufacturing

Our bedding is made in France and in Europe in the vast majority of cases. This proximity to manufacturers allows us to limit our carbon footprint.

Our articles are therefore produced in short circuits as much as possible and their traceability is ensured.

Hypoallergenic bedding

Choosing ecological bedding allows you to take care of the fauna and flora.

But it also allows you to take care of your health while sleeping.

Our skin is in direct contact with our bedding. Chemicals applied to conventional pillows or duvets can cause allergies.

Thanks to our offer, you are assured of the absence of substances harmful to your health.

And as we know that quality sleep is an important pillar of our health, our different materials are selected to ensure you enjoy a more restorative and gentle night.

Lifespan and quality of ecological duvets and pillows

All our collections have a long lifespan.

By favoring raw materials of exceptional quality, our collections are sustainable.

The duvets remain soft, warm and light; the pillows keep their shape and are comfortable.

FAQs

What is an ecological/natural duvet?
An ecological duvet is made from natural materials (silk, organic cotton, wool, down) or recycled materials, without harmful chemicals. It limits its environmental impact thanks to processes that respect nature and are often certified by labels.
What are the labels to favor for eco-responsible bedding (GOTS, Oeko-Tex, RDS, etc.)?
The labels GOTS, Oeko-Tex® and RDS are references. GOTS guarantees organic and ethical cultivation, Oeko-Tex® certifies the absence of harmful substances, and RDS ensures animal welfare and the traceability of the down.
How to choose the weight of a duvet depending on the season?
The weight determines the warmth of the duvet. We prefer a light duvet (200–250 g/m²) for summer, a temperate duvet (300–350 g/m²) for mid-season and a warm duvet (400–500 g/m²) for winter. 4-season models combine two duvets to fit all year round.
What lifespan does an ecological duvet last?
A well-maintained eco-friendly duvet can last between 8 and 10 years. Longevity depends on the quality of the materials (silk, down, organic cotton, wool) and regular maintenance (ventilation, protective cover, appropriate washing depending on the fibers).
How to store your duvets and pillows to preserve their fluffiness?
Store them clean and dry, in a breathable cover (cotton) rather than a plastic bag. Avoid damp spaces and prolonged compression; air them regularly to maintain their fluffiness.
What to do with old duvets or pillows at the end of their life (recycling, reuse)?
If they are in good condition, donate them to associations. Otherwise, check with textile collection points for recycling. Certain materials (down, wool) can be reused as filling for cushions or animal baskets.
