Choose the right size

If it is commonly accepted that you need to allow approximately 50 centimeters on either side of the bed top to be able to curl up comfortably under your duvet and not be discovered during the night, the choice of size will in fact be dictated by the height of the bed and by the aesthetic result that you wish to obtain, depending on whether you want a loose and "skirting" duvet or rather a "fitted" duvet, so as not to hide, for example, a pretty bed frame.

Please note that the largest side of the duvet (260X240 for example) is not intended for the length of the bed but for its width. So, in the example of a 260X240 duvet, the 260 cm are intended for the width of your bed.

If for greater precaution you wish to take measurements, take a tape measure (tape) and measure the width of the bed from the floor on the left side of the bed to the floor on the right side without crushing the bed. Don't forget in your calculation that you will then have to slip under the duvet, increasing the width necessary so as not to be discovered during the night.

We indicate in the table below the duvet size to choose for each type of bed depending on whether you want a minimal fall or a loose fall. However, for greater comfort, we advise you to opt for a loose fit.

  • temperate
  • Ideal for heated rooms from 17 to 20°C
  • hot
  • Ideal for people sensitive to cold or for poorly heated rooms from 14° to 17° C
