Guide to Down Comforters
What is a quilt?
An eiderdown is a kind of very thick duvet (2 to 3 times the thickness of a classic duvet) whose role is to cover the body but without falling on the sides like a duvet. It is therefore narrower than a duvet and is placed over a Blanket or a duvet.
Why use a comforter?
In case of extreme cold, who has never dreamed of snuggling up in a bed covered with a puffy quilt. The feeling of comfort is incomparable and there is no better protection against the cold than a good down.
Which quilt to choose?
Your choice will be mainly guided by the feeling of weight and the aesthetics you are looking for.
Classic quilts:
If you are looking for a warm but not too heavy comforter, we advise you to opt for thefluffy duck down comforter. It is a high-end quilt whose refined filling offers better thermal comfort with a filling of 600g/m², or 40% less filling than a down quilt.
If you are looking for a heavy comforter, we recommend a 1000g/m² down and feather comforter. For comparison, a classic summer duvet generally weighs 150 g/m². This comforter is therefore approximately 7 times heavier and offers a wrapping sensation very sought after by some people.
