Guide to organic cotton duvets
What is a cotton duvet?
The question may seem trivial but it is worth asking! Indeed, a cotton quilt should be a comforter made from 100% cotton. However, you will find many stores selling synthetic duvets having just a cotton cover under the name "cotton duvet". You must therefore be careful to read between the lines and be wary of summary descriptions that do not allow you to know precisely the real composition of the filling.
Why choose a real cotton duvet?
The cotton quilt offers a healthy, natural and antiperspirant environment ideal for sleep. It offers very appreciable freshness in summer but also protects from the cold in winter.
The cotton quilt is also the least expensive natural duvet.
Why choose an organic cotton duvet?
Conventional cotton cultivation is extremely polluting. It represents 25% of pesticides used worldwide. In addition, cotton processing releases harmful substances into nature, not to mention the drying up of waterways due to intensive irrigation.
Conversely:
- organic cotton is grown with compost replacing chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
- It is GMO-free and the water consumption required for its cultivation is halved compared to conventional cotton.
- Its fiber is bleached with hydrogen peroxide and not with chlorine.
- The dyes are made without heavy metals or other carcinogenic substances. Crop rotation in organic farming helps oxygenate the land and preserve its richness.
- Organic cotton cultivation also allows producers, by reducing their investments, to escape the trap of debt. It improves their working conditions, their health and that of those around them.
What is the label GOTS ?
- the absence of pesticides and insecticides,
- halving water consumption,
- crop rotation to preserve the land and reduce the risk of disease.

Why choose an organic cotton duvet Label Naturel ?
Like us, you have natural fiber. You are looking for a product in line with your ecological and ethical beliefs. Our organic cotton duvets are certified GOTS which is a guarantee of seriousness when it comes to respecting the commitments made during manufacturing.
On the other hand, all the quilts Label Naturel Collection have the particularity of being available in "Summer" and "Mid-season" weights and of being all equipped with ties allowing you to assemble 2 duvets together to obtain a warmer one. The "4 seasons" offer is an economical pack of the "Summer" duvet and the "Mid-season" duvet which, when assembled, form a "Winter" duvet.
Our duvets are therefore scalable because you can, for example, buy a “Summer” duvet first and then a “Mid-season” duvet that you can use separately and then assembled. At the same time, you avoid purchasing a winter duvet, which is also an ecological act.
Caution: Some brands display “organic cotton duvets” for duvets where only the cover is made of organic cotton but the filling is polyester. This practice is prohibited by GOTS because only 100% products GOTS allow the label to be displayed. Furthermore, it is obvious that the benefit of having an organic envelope is quite limited when the filling comes from the petrochemical industry.
Finally, we want as many people as possible to be able to benefit from our natural products. We have therefore pushed prices as low as possible, which places our products almost three times cheaper than another major brand of organic cotton duvet.
What is the right price for an organic cotton duvet?
Many customers surprised by the extremely high sales prices charged by some of our colleagues (and not the least) rightly question us about what could explain why our duvets are less expensive than those of the competition, fearing that this price difference is justified by products of lower quality.
The explanation is in fact to be found in the pricing policy of our competitors who literally ride on their image and reputation, claiming to impose crazy prices on their customers and on the natural bedding market, in which they are often in no way specialists.
Their selling prices and the margins charged are all the more insane as their only alibi is often a "French manufacture"...
This justification is all the lighter as French regulations allow you to claim "made in France" as long as most of the product is assembled in France, whether the different components (envelope, filling, finishing bias, etc.) that make it up are manufactured on the other side of the planet or not!
For our organic cotton duvets, we have chosen to produce in central Europe which we have entrusted to a factory specializing in the manufacture of natural bedding items for almost 80 years.
We have selected high quality organic cotton certified GOTS and have established manufacturing specifications guaranteeing our products and therefore our customers, manufacturing according to the rules of the art and meticulous finishing going well beyond market standards.
Our duvets are then only sold at the right price! No more, no less.
Are you looking for an anti-perspirant duvet for the summer?
The organic cotton duvet summer of 150g/m2 is what you need. Light, fresh and breathable, you won't feel it, which will prevent you from uncovering yourself during the night and being cold in the early morning.
