Choose the right size
If mattress sizes differ from country to country, consumers want bigger beds. But beware of misleading names and “false friends”. A "King Size Bed" in the USA will not at all be the same size as a King Size in Australia or Great Britain. Question of morphology!
• In France: the reference is no longer the 140 cm x 190 cm mattress but the 160 cm x 200 cm mattress which has gradually taken over the 140/190. In addition, there is a craze for large sizes. 180 x 200 and even 200 x 200 mattresses are no longer exceptional.
• In Spain: the Spaniards recently swapped their small 135 cm x 180 cm mattress for a more comfortable 150 cm x 190 cm mattress.
• In Italy: Italians most often opt for a 170/190, but also very regularly for a bed with 2 adjacent mattresses measuring twice 90 x 190.
• In Germany: the Germans favor traditional bedding composed of two sets of box springs and mattresses of two times 90 x 200 or two times 100 x 200 cm.
• To United States: the Americans remain far ahead with their traditional "King Size" 193 cm x 203 cm which outperforms the "Queen Size" 153 cm x 203 cm. The “Single” are 97 × 191 cm and the “Double” are 137 × 190 cm.
